FAQ

Why count pins?

Total pin count is the standard measure of PCB layout effort — it reflects routing complexity better than component count, so it's useful for scoping a design job before requesting a quote.

What about Altium .SchDoc?

Altium schematics are a binary format that can't be parsed in the browser. Upload them to our quote console and the server counts pin records precisely (cross-validated against KiCad).

It says power symbols were excluded.

GND/VCC-style power symbols aren't mounted parts, so they're excluded automatically — the standard convention for sizing layout work.

I get a sub-sheet warning.

Hierarchical KiCad designs span multiple sheet files. Drop all related .kicad_sch files together and they'll be summed.
