Why do Fusion 360 DWGs look broken?
Fusion 360 embeds proprietary objects (proxy entities) and sheet metadata that plain 2D CAD programs cannot interpret. That is why the drawing opens half-empty or blank in AutoCAD LT, GstarCAD or similar. The geometry itself is fine — rewriting the file with standard entities fixes it.
The converter re-saves the drawing as a clean AutoCAD 2018 DWG. Lines, circles, arcs, polylines and dimensions are preserved; only the non-standard data causing the problem is stripped. After converting, open the result in your CAD and compare it against the original once.
FAQ
Which files can I upload?
DWG files exported from Fusion 360. DWGs from other CAD tools convert too, but this tool exists specifically to fix Fusion-family compatibility issues.
Will dimensions or scale change?
No — geometry is rewritten as-is, so coordinates, dimensions and scale stay identical. Fusion-only objects with no standard equivalent may be dropped, so compare the result against the original once.
Does it convert 3D solids?
This tool is for 2D drawings. For 3D geometry, export STEP from Fusion instead — you can inspect it right away in our 3D model viewer.
How are my files handled?
They are processed automatically on our conversion server, then both the upload and the result are deleted periodically. Never shared with third parties.
What if conversion fails?
Rarely, corrupted files or very old formats fail. Leave the file details via our request page and we will follow up.
Can I get DXF output?
Currently only DWG (2018) is produced. If you need DXF, open the converted DWG in your CAD and save-as DXF.
